Faith and the Arts Summer School runs from 4pm on Sunday 7th January and finishes at 11.30am on Sunday January 14th 2018.

Accommodation

The registration fee includes budget shared accommodation in the Poatina Chalet Hostel. Motel rooms with private ensuite bathroom are available (either to share with a partner or friend, or to enjoy solo) as an optional upgrade at extra cost when registering online. We will endeavour to accommodate family members together in appropriate accommodation and will also do our best to accommodate friends together if you provide their names when registering online.

Meals and Dietary Needs

All meals are included in the registration fee from Dinner on Sunday 7th January until Breakfast on Sunday 14th January, inclusive. We will work to accommodate special dietary needs (allergies or intolerances) as much as possible and details should be given for each individual when registering online. 

Cost

A range of ticket types are selectable when registering online. Standard and concession registration fees include budget hostel accommodation, meals, course fees and basic elective fees.  Some  electives attract an extra fee to cover additional costs (see add-ons section below). 'Poatina Resident' Fees do not include accommodation or breakfasts (except final celebration breakfast on the last day). Kids '0-3yrs' and '4-12yrs' Fees include food and accommodation only (no program).

An early bird discount is available for most tickets options until Nov 19th. Whilst we've had to put our fees up in recent years, I'm sure you'll agree that the costs below still represent excellent value for a whole week of tuition, fun, materials, accommodation and food. If, however, the cost of this event is the main factor in preventing you from joining us, please let us know via the 'Contact Us' tab above as we may be able to offer some assistance via our new sponsorship program (see below) or a payment plan.

  4. 4-12yrs Non-participating Family Member (Food and Accom only) - $295  ($275 Early Bird until Nov 19th)
  5. 0-3yrs Non Participating Family Member (Food and Accom only) - $50  ($40 Early Bird until Nov 19th)                                                    
  6. Poatina Resident Standard (No Accom or Breakfasts) - $570  ($530 Early Bird until Nov 19th)
  7. Poatina Resident Concession (No Accom or Breakfasts) - $480  ($445 Early Bird until Nov 19th)

Motel upgrade costs are per person for the whole 7 nights (not per night). Shared rates assume that you have a partner, friend(s) or family member(s) that will also pay the shared upgrade amount.

Sponsorship Program

Our sponsorship program allows you to add a sponsorship amount to your own registration fee when booking online. These funds will be used to assist participants and leaders to come to Faith and the Arts who would otherwise be prevented from attending due to the cost of registration fees or travel.  

If you are not planning to register for Faith and the Arts yourself but would still like to sponsor someone else, please contact us via the 'Contact Us' tab above or simply make a deposit into the Poatina Arts account (see 'Payment Details' below), marked 'sponsorFATA'.  If you require a receipt, and to enable us to thank you, please make sure you contact us with your name, address and details of your deposit (although you may remain anonymous if you wish).

Registration

Online registration is will open via the link at the top and bottom of this page in late October.  Early bird prices available until November 19th 2017.  **Please note that registrations will not be considered complete and places reserved until full payment is received.

Payment

Payment is requested at the time of booking via credit or debit card. Please have your card handy when registering. If you are unable to pay via card, you may instead elect to 'pay offline' by direct bank deposit, using the following bank deposit details:

What to Bring

Most art materials will be provided for most electives. It is generally not necessary to bring your own art materials, however, you may if you wish.  Further details of what to bring will be advised upon registration. 

Travel to Poatina

For those travelling from interstate, the cheapest and fastest way to get here is by air. The closest airport is Launceston, situated approximately 40mins away, where we offer a free airport pickup and drop-off service for those registering. The on-line registration form asks for your flight arrival and departure times and flight numbers, so ideally make your flight booking prior to registering and have these details handy when you register.  Alternatively, if you are not in a position to book flights now, you can email us your flight details later on.

Using a website like I Want that Flight is a good way to compare airfares from all available airlines and third party sellers and book fares without incurring extra booking fees. 

Arrival Time:  If flying, please aim to arrive at Launceston airport on Sunday 7th January, ideally by 3.30pm, to allow time to collect baggage and drive you to Poatina by 4.30pm. Registrations/check-in will be happening from 4pm at the Chalet reception desk and the first session begins at 5pm in the Hall. 

Departure Time: Again, to allow time to travel to the airport and check bags in after the program finishes at 11.30am, the ideal would be to choose flights that depart after 1pm on Sunday the 14th January. Having said that, we understand if this isn’t possible and we’ll make sure we get you to the airport anyway.

For those needing to bring a vehicle across, you will need to travel on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry from Melbourne to Devonport, followed by a 1.5hr drive to Poatina.

Extra nights and/or meals
