Dance

(Morning Elective)

Meditate through movement, move from within, express with all your being. This dance elective is for everyone: from the trained dancer to the wanting to try, or just loving to move! Experience prayerful movement with stretch and elements of Pilates. Contemporary technique with hints of Duncan and release. And a chance to explore your own style through improvisation. Suitable for all experience levels.

Tamara Argall is passionate about connecting dance with nature, culture and issues of the world. She did her formal dance training at Wesley Institute and later did a Graduate Diploma in Education for dance teaching. Tamara has been to New York to study the Isadora Duncan dance technique, which she was greatly suited to. Being influenced by nature Tamara was able to go to Europe and do two dance residencies exploring the natural environment. The first was in Spain at The Centre of Art and Nature, situated in a small village Farrera, in the Catalonian Pyrenees. The second in Southern France in the country at Bordeneuve. Tamara then went to India with a team of people doing dramatic health skits in villages. She has been a dance lecturer at Faith in the Arts in the past and has also done a short residency exploring the bush around Poatina. Tamara has also created dance works on refugee and environmental themes performed at Annandale Creative Arts Centre in Sydney.

Dance is offered as a Morning Elective in 2018. Minimum and maximum registration numbers apply to all electives with places awarded on a first come first served basis. Please ensure that you have indicated a second choice for both Morning and Afternoon Electives when registering online in case your first choice is unavailable.
