Printmaking

(Morning Elective)

Experience an integrated print workshop covering woodcut and linocut.  Learn basic printmaking techniques while exploring your creativity and spiritual journey at FATA. After being introduced to the basics, participants will have the opportunity to experiment and explore as they feel led. Suitable for absolute beginners (those who have “never even drawn a straight line”) as well as the experienced artist wanting to stretch and grow.

Linda Abblitt is an award winning printmaker who lives in Melbourne. She is also an excellent photographer, and regularly combines her love of photography with her woodcuts. Initially her art was inspired by landscapes, but after working with a Christian aid organisation in developing countries for 13 years, the content of her work took a new direction.  Linda is now well known for her woodcut portraits. She often uses black and white in an attempt to capture the stark reality of her subject's environment and emotion.

Printmaking is offered as a Morning Elective in 2018. Minimum and maximum registration numbers apply to all electives with places awarded on a first come first served basis. Please ensure that you have indicated a second choice for both Morning and Afternoon Electives when registering online in case your first choice is unavailable.
